What can be done about my flat cheek bones?

A lot of people look in the mirror and feel like their mid-face appears flat or lacks definition, and they are uncertain if there is anything that can be done to help.  There is a whole range of normal facial bone structures within the population, but social media and magazines tend to highlight high prominent cheekbones and defined bone structure as “the look” to aspire to, leaving some feeling unhappy with their appearance.

A naturally flatter mid face is entirely normal and for many this will be the way that you have been born.  Some people notice that as they age their cheekbones become less defined.  Similarly others notice that they have less facial definition with weight gain and ageing.

As the body gets older fat and bone volume in the face can be lost, resulting in a sunken look that makes the cheekbones appear less defined. The skin may also sag heightening these changes.  If there has been a significant change in bodyweight, the facial bone structure can be obscured resulting in a more flat appearance.
